10 – 10 – 10 Campaign Day 5

Prayer

We are at the half way point of our 10 – 10 – 10 campaign. Thank you for joining us, praying and considering giving to our ministry! Yesterday, we prayed for the depressed and suicidal in Japan. Today, I would like for us to join together and pray for people to come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

Sometimes it’s hard to discern what God’s will is, sometimes it’s easy. 2 Peter 3:9 opens up God’s heart and shows us clearly what His will is:

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9

Peter penned these words 2,000 years ago to the believers of the time, but it still rings true today. God’s will is that none should perish apart from the knowledge and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

127 million people live in Japan. Only 2% of the population claims to be Christian. If my math is correct 125,440,000 people need to know about Jesus in Japan. Without accepting Jesus, these 125 million people are doomed to eternity separated from the love of God. This is unacceptable, it has to change. There are not enough churches in Japan to meet this need. When only 2% of people know Jesus, the odds of someone knowing a Christian are slim. When only 2% of people attend Church (assuming every person who claims to be a Christian attends church) the odds of finding a church without intentionally seeking one out are minimal. But with God, all things are possible.

Please pray with us for the church to rise up, Christians voices to be heard, the Gospel to go forth, and people to give their lives to Christ. Team Shims2Japan are going to Japan to serve the God and to make Him known. Not everyone is called to go, but we can all pray, and when we pray in God’s will, amazing things can happen.
