If you ask most missionaries from any missions sending organization, who is the best, most will answer, “Assemblies of God.” Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM) has the best strategy for sending workers to minister the Word of God all over the world. I am very proud to be a part of it!
One of the things that I love about the A/G is that before sending missionaries, the missionary candidate travel around the country and raise their own budget for their overseas ministry. Fundraising is not an easy thing for me, but the opportunity that it provides for building a team, network and other support is amazing!
I won’t be shy to tell you we have a budget that we have to raise, both in monthly support and a set amount of cash for our departure. However, today I want to share the other needs that we have as a missionary family and how you can help.
- Prayer: We are looking to have 500 prayer partners by the time we leave for Japan (toward the end of 2017). More than anything else, we need prayer partners. We ask simply that our prayer partners pray for us daily. Be open to the Lord, he may guide you to pray for something different day by day.
- Financial: As I stated above all Assemblies of God missionaries raise their own budget for their ministry, living expense, travel, education, health insurance and personal salary. Japan has a high cost of living, which means a high budget. We are seeking partners who will support us financially over the course of our missionary “career.” Any amount is helpful, and appreciated, even it if $1 a month.
- Other team members: aside from prayer and financial support, most missionaries have a team in the states that helps in a more “hands on” capacity. Teams often include (but are not limited to) graphics designer, video editor, social media guru, newsletter editor, prayer leader, admin support, accountability partner, and party planner. Some of these roles go dormant and some go active when the missionaries are overseas, and some are always on. If you are interested in filling any of these roles, I’d love to hear from you. If you are afraid of committing years of your life to the cause, fear not: I like to work in termed commitments 6 months, 1 year, 3 years or whatever you are comfortable with.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and be a part of our support team! If you’d like to be either a prayer partner or financial partner, you can do so by going to our agmd.org page here.
